A transparent version of the legendary safari, the LAMY vista features remarkable build quality and a design that feels as fresh and modern as it did when it was first released in the early '80s. Its clear body lets you admire the inner workings of the fountain pen as you use it.

Features:

  • Steel left-handed nib with a slightly oblique tip, designed for the angle used by many left-handed writers. It creates a similar line to a medium LAMY nib.
  • Ergonomically shaped grip section.
  • Easy ink installation—simply put the cartridge inside the barrel or grip section, then screw the barrel and grip section together to automatically puncture the cartridge.
  • Sturdy ABS plastic construction.
  • Large, flexible metal pocket clip.
  • One blue ink cartridge.

Notes:

  • To prevent the ink cartridge from being punctured in transit, this pen comes with a cardboard spacer ring between the barrel and grip section. The ring must be removed before using the pen.
  • This pen may come with ink residue in the nib from being dip tested by LAMY at the factory. As with all new fountain pens, JetPens recommends giving your pen a good cleaning before you use it.

So happy to find this Lamy pen for left handers!
It writes beautifully, never dragging or catching on paper fibers.

I didn’t like this pen as well as I do the Lamy Safari left-hand nib. It seems larger than a medium. The ink flows really well, but the largeness of the nib makes writing difficult for me. I use a Hobonichi AVEC planner and I want to write smaller in it. This pen does ok, but I like fine and extra-fine nibs which apparently don't come in a left-hand nib (on a budget anyway..) I am a bargain shopper and this pen was on sale. I do not regret buying it, I just wont be able to use it in my Hobonichi. But I have lots and lots of paper to try it on!!

I am a left-handed sidewriter. The triangular barrel does NOT orient the nib correctly for me.
Fellow lefties beware! Triangular barrels may not be a good fit for you.

The LAMY Vista was otherwise serviceable and had no issues with ink flow. I see why AL-STAR/Safari have a cult following, but unfortunately *I* have to write them off on account of the triangular barrel.
